New 7 Wonders of the world, Puerto Princesa Palawan.
The Capital of Palawan and the second largest city in the Philippines by land and yet the least populated.
What do you need to know?
Puerto Princesa Palawan implements a strict rule about cleanliness and orderliness. Littering is punishable by a certain fine or imprisonment depending the counts of offenses made.
People are very friendly, hospitable and honest, scams are rare or close to none because locals takes care of each other, their environment and their visitors.
Loitering on the streets wearing bikini are improper and would offend the Palawenos. Respect the culture of the place and act accordingly.
Smokers are not allowed to smoke on public places. (also punishable)
Modes of payment:
Cash: (most establishments prefer cash)
Credit Card/Debit Card: (some establishments accepts card)
Children aged 2 years and below are not permitted to take the Underground River tour
Booking tours trough agencies are better than doing it on your own, aside from it is cheaper you also don't need to stressed out about doing a lot of the paper works.
Apply insect repellent all throughout your tour since Palawan is known to have had Malaria but not totally that dangerous to be alarmed, just to be safe.
Places that are Best to Stay
City Center: If you are doing tours on your own, I suggest you to get an accommodation that is located in the city center. Transportation fares can be expensive at times and you don't want to keep on paying for a transportation if you plan to stroll around the city. Some accommodations are really secluded and in the middle of nowhere and you don't want to be in that situation unless that is what you wish for.
City Proper: Is the best place to choose to be away from the crowd and feel the urbanity of Puerto Princesa.
