Our very first Lantern
Updated: Nov 3, 2018

Known for it's sky lantern lighting, Shifen old street is a street where there are lanes and alleys in and around the Shifen railway station area, filled with street markets and street food lanes along it's sides. While people fly their giant lanterns in the middle of the railroad and before that, they write something on it as a prayer or wish. Each color represents your kind of prayers.

RED = Safety and Health Yellow = Money and Fortune
Blue = Career and Business PURPLE = Study
PEACH = Blessed and Happiness ORANGE = Relationship and Marriage
GREEN = Successful and Smooth PINK = Popularity
It's actually nice to go there at night so that there'll be not too much people around and you will get to see the light up lantern too. This tradition of wishing through lantern is well known here in Taiwan, so as a traveler it's better to try and do it too for experience and I am not disappointed.

So our first lantern together turns out really well and fun for both of us. We wished for us and our family and fly this gigantic lantern to the sky.
