Casual wear on Hawaiian Cold Days

WHAT PEOPLE FROM HAWAII WEAR ON COLD DAYS

Cold weather in Hawaii are usually from November to March. ALong those days it gets really cold and breezy but still, Hawaii is Hawaii.

Despite the cold weather and strong breeze that comes to Hawaii on winter days, most Hawaiian are still wearing shorts. The reason is that, although the blow of the breeze gets cold and freezing, the heat of the sun is still there so it kind of makes a balance in wether.

It is also because, even on cold days, it gets hot too at some point.

There's a lot of beach in Hawaii and in fact, it is an island so we are literally surrounded by the ocean. Hawaiians are used to walking outside with comfy clothes such as shorts and T shirts simply because as expected in a place with tropical climate, the clothing tradition is minimal. Stepping on the sands and grass are common and so people are used to just wearing shorts on a daily basis.

Also, the usual activity here in Hawaii such as surfing, sun bathing, swimming, hiking and trekking requires minimal clothing so shorts is just usual even on cold days.

One common clothing in Hawaii are polo shirts. Which is a breathable clothing and at the same time can be protection both from sun and wind. You will see a lot of people in Hawaii that wears polo shirt specially the floral printed ones because it is a thing here in Hawaii. From tourists who wants to blend in, employees, bus drivers, etc.

If you are planning to go in Hawaii, wear anything minimal. You can even see people on their bikinis at the mall and no one will mind them. Besides, the ocean is just around the corner so you can always swim on the go.
